The windows of St Hugh’s are deteriorating due to age and weathering and now require urgent specialist restoration. Because St Hugh’s is a Grade II listed building, this work must meet strict conservation standards. That means:
Skilled craftspeople
Traditional materials
Careful, expert restoration
The responsibility for preserving this historic church lies entirely with The Friends of St Hugh’s Foolow, the charity dedicated to caring for the building for the benefit of the public.
Our current campaign aims to raise £5000 in 2026 to enable us to complete the window restoration project and build up funds for the ongoing care of the building.
Any surplus funds raised will be retained by The Friends of St Hugh’s Foolow to support the ongoing maintenance and preservation of the church building.
Many of St Hugh’s windows were donated in memory of loved ones. This project does not involve replacing this historic glass. The restoration focuses on repairing and strengthening the original frames, helping to safeguard these memorial windows and the stories they carry.
This is a meaningful way to honour a loved one or mark a special memory. All £50 sponsorships will be acknowledged our our website here.
